Hikers looking to make a trek to the Blue Lakes on Colorado’s Western Slope this year will not need a permit to do so.⁠ ⁠ Earlier this month, the U.S. Forest Service announced that it anticipates requiring advanced-purchased permits to hike the famed lakes beginning in 2027.
