🎓 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 Brig. Gen. James M. Valpiani, Class of 2004, was formally welcomed as Dean of the Faculty during a change of command ceremony. During the ceremony, #USAFA leaders, faculty, staff and cadets gathered to recognize the transition in leadership and the vital role the Dean plays in guiding the institution’s academic mission. Col. Steven C. M. Hasstedt, Class of 1992, provided leadership for the Academy's academic enterprise as the acting Dean of the Faculty during the transition. His tenure is notable as the longest for an Acting Dean in the Academy’s history. Brig. Gen. Valpiani brings extensive operational, research and academic experience to the role.
