California Gov. Gavin Newsom is reacting to news of the abuse allegations made against the late civil rights leader Cesar Chavez.
Newsom said he and others close to him are still “processing” the news, calling it a “sensitive moment.”
Civil rights leader Dolores Huerta said Tuesday that she was sexually abused by Chavez in the 1960s, which resulted in two pregnancies.
