We bear witness in an attempt to give them a moment of compassion in their tortured lives. To acknowledge that they exist and to tell them we are sorry. They are babies, scared and exhausted. They have never felt love. They were bred to be mere commodities, have been enslaved and exploited since birth and within minutes of these photos being taken will meet a violent death at the hands of an industry that is built on injustice. We bear witness to these pigs who have been transported in metal cages for hours, without food or water or protection from the elements. The numbers are staggering. Truck after truck arriving full, leaving empty. Thousands of animals murdered daily. And this is just one slaughterhouse in one part of one city.
