Tunnel of Trees, Michigan, Guide 🌳
The Tunnel of Trees is a scenic route between Petoskey and Cross Village, Michigan called M-119.
It’s one of the best areas to see the fall foliage in Michigan while taking in beautiful views of Lake Michigan!
The highway is 20 miles of tree canopies, charming small towns, and local cuisine.
You must make a stop in my favorite little town, Harbor Springs!
• Grab a coffee and pastry at Birch Tree Bakery
• Have lunch at The Paper Station Bistro
• Take home a dozen of the BEST, fresh-baked cookies from Tom’s Mom’s Cookies.
Along the Tunnel of Trees, you’ll find numerous pull-off areas with incredible views. Take your time and get out of the car to take it all in! 🍂
And don’t be afraid to explore the backroads (where this photo was actually taken) and deviate from the Tunnel of Trees! I spoke to a local who shared that the inland trees are typically much more vibrant in color. And she wasn’t lying! I highly recommend exploring State Road...
