Traveling solo in Florence, Italy ✈️
I traveled in Italy for a month with Florence as my home base. I made such great friends and found the city to be overall very safe.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Where to stay - I recommend a hostel or Airbnb near the city center. Costs are relatively inexpensive and you’ll be near most major attractions. A hostel also gives you the opportunity to meet other travelers!
2. Safety - I felt very safe in Florence, but was warned of pickpockets. My biggest advice is to watch your belongings and keep your handbag near you!
3. Dining Alone - I ate alone quite often with just a book to accompany me. No restaurant was ‘off limits’ and many others were eating alone too. Pro tip: Don’t eat near the major tourist destinations. Wander a few streets away.
