Luke Combs has said that he hopes his song 'Whoever You Turn Out To Be' resonates with parents of LGBTQ+ children. The country music star told GQ Hype that he wrote the song to his sons as a promise to love them unconditionally, saying "I don’t need my kids to be anything, you know what I mean? I’m not trying to fill some hole in myself with them." He went on to say "You don’t get to choose who you want to be with, and I can’t imagine feeling the pressure a child would experience coming to terms with those things on their own.
