The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India confirmed that the first shipment of medical aid from India has officially reached Iran, marking the beginning of on-ground humanitarian support.
In a statement, the embassy said, “The first shipment of medical aid from the esteemed people of India has been delivered to the Iranian Red Crescent Society. We sincerely thank the kind people of India.”
The aid has been handed over to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, which is leading relief efforts as the country deals with the human cost of ongoing military strikes and instability.
This comes days after the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi publicly acknowledged the overwhelming response from Indian citizens, many of whom had been actively looking for ways to contribute.
Despite logistical and banking challenges in processing donations, the intent from India remained strong, pushing relief efforts from just financial support to actual material assistance reaching the ground.
