The doors of the Iowa Events Center haven’t even opened for visitors at the Des Moines Home + Garden Show on Feb. 15 and 13-year-old Mason Meeker already has a customer. Mason, who runs MR. M Creations, has a table set up at the Kids Market selling fidgets he’s created. If anyone can sell fidgets, it’s Mason. The teenager doesn’t just own and operate his own business, he’s perhaps his biggest customer. Mason, a seventh grader from Baxter, has been using fidgets for years to help cope with ADHD and social anxiety. He recently started making and selling the small objects that help with stimming and assist individuals who deal with anxiety, frustration and boredom.
