It’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week- a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. Becoming a mum changed my world. But becoming a mum to a neurodivergent child with a rare genetic condition blew everything I thought I knew (or didn’t know) about neurodiversity out of the water. I’ll be honest - I was guilty of misconceptions. But he has shown me that love needs no words. We have a connection so strong it goes beyond language. We have had to fight for everything: diagnosis, an EHCP, growth hormones, even securing a school place. The looks, the stares… even a passive-aggressive, anonymous letter through our postbox about him 🤬 — that’s our daily reality. But we are the lucky ones, because we have HIM in our life.
