Best wishes to all those going through the residency match process this week! ✅ 😷 Personally, I feel like medical students should be able to announce where they are doing residency at a podium based on their own decision (after receiving an offer from a program) and not find out through an email coming from a match service that essentially works like computer dating. I think it should basically work like free agent athletes announcing which team they are signing with. I realize that may be more difficult from a logistics standpoint, but I think the current match system is antiquated and could be more favorable to the medical students in terms of reducing both the stress and the cost. 👉 Also, who else remembers the LeBron “Decision”…or am I getting too old now? #residency #matchday #medicalstudent #medicalschool
