Bertrand Hebert, Rick Martel's manager and friend, appeared on the Wrestling Nostalgia podcast with Dave Dynasty to discuss Martel's career and his return to public appearances for the first time in over a decade at the Big Event convention on March 21 in New York. Hebert revealed that Martel has never been offered the WWE Hall of Fame despite online claims. "No matter what Bruce Prichard said, he has never been offered the WWE Hall of Fame. If he's offered, I will make sure personally that he accepts." Hebert said Martel pitched his own heel turn to Vince McMahon and threatened not to return unless they made him a villain. "If you're not going to make me a heel, I'm not going to come back." The reason: main event money working with Hogan. He also revealed that Martel and Don Callis nearly formed a tag team called "The Supermodels" in WWF in 1997. The deal fell apart over guaranteed money.
