One of them was Hydeia Broadbent, a 12-year-old girl who had been abandoned at a Las Vegas hospital at birth, born HIV-positive. Doctors said she would not live past age five. Scott Hall showed up in character, gave her one of his gold chains, and then, completely unscripted, handed over the actual WWF Intercontinental Championship. Not a replica. The belt used on television. Hydeia went on to speak at the Republican National Convention that same year. She appeared on Oprah. She stood next to Magic Johnson on Nickelodeon and told the world "I just want people to know that we're just normal people."
