Study Abroad Student Spotlight: John Thweatt ’27 – Ireland 🇮🇪 Meet John, a history and political science double major and communication minor who is studying abroad this semester in Dublin. Drawn in by Ireland’s rich history, political landscape, and breathtaking countryside, John knew Dublin would be the perfect place to learn and explore. This semester, he’s courses in Irish politics, emigration history, globalization & sustainability, photography, and cultural identity. On a typical weekday, John takes the train to class and spends about five hours on campus. Between lectures, he meets friends for meals at local restaurants or pubs. After classes, he gets some work done before spending evenings with friends at their apartments or heading out to enjoy live music and the energy of Dublin’s pub scene.
