Circa 2021. Sisters PGH was in its protest era. We were in the streets of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County organizing, demanding, and fighting — not just for visibility, but against trans homelessness, misogynoir, segregation and racism within our own community, and the CIStems of oppression impacting Black trans lives. During People’s Pride PGH, a chant echoed through the city: “Our pride is not for sale. People’s Pride will prevail.” And we meant that. People’s Pride was more than a protest. It was a declaration. A refusal to accept systems rooted in racism, transphobia, and exclusion — both outside of our community and within it. We also honor the community members, organizers, and allies — past and present — who stood with us, pushed with us, and helped move trans liberation forward in Pittsburgh. This movement has been building since the early 2010s. And today… we are standing in that promise. From protest to permanent space. From chants to infrastructure. From resistan...
