The FIFA Council approved new legislation on Thursday mandating women’s teams to have at least two women staff members, with one needing to be either the head coach or assistant coach, to participate in FIFA’s youth and senior women’s football tournaments.
The ruling applies to both national team competitions and club competitions, effective immediately ahead of the under-17 and U20 Women’s World Cups and FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
