How can a tire rewrite art history? 🛞
In 1953, Robert Rauschenberg stitched together typewriter paper into a nearly 7-meter scroll and laid it on wet pavement in Lower Manhattan. Then, composer John Cage drove a car straight through paint and across its length. What remained was "Automobile Tire Print," an impression of the city’s pulse reflective of panoramic Chinese scrolls.
