On Tuesday, first-year Jaelyn Woodley was chosen as the 2026-27 speaker of the Senate for the Missouri Student Association. She is the first Black woman to be elected MSA speaker. “It means a lot for me being the first Black woman, to show that Black women can be in these spaces and not be stereotyped on campus as not being able to be in these spaces,” Woodley said. Woodley is majoring in political science and Black studies and is currently serving as the Senate Outreach Coordinator and an at-large senator for MSA. She won the election 18-11-5.
