NJ ➡️ Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Students from our Community Ecology & Toxicology courses spent Spring Break in Costa Rica studying heavy metal contamination across the country! #MontclairAbroad #RedHawkPride Because heavy metals like mercury can come from human activities (like gold mining) as well as natural sources (like volcanoes), students collected samples from a range of aquatic sites including areas near an active volcano! 🌋 Along the way, they explored Costa Rica’s incredible landscapes with faculty leaders Dr. Alexis Khursigara, and Dr. Matt Schuler. So cool! 🙌
