May is foster care awareness month.❤️ If you’re new around here, hi! 👋 Alex and I became foster parents in 2019. We had a sibling group of 3 that stayed with us for a very short time, a sibling group of 2 that stayed with us for almost a year, and now we have our little man who came to us in August of 2021 and we adopted him a few months ago.

There are SO many ways you can support kids in care, outside of being a foster parent. Become a CASA advocate. Volunteer to be a mentor. Support birth families. Donate your time and money to foster care organizations. If you're a teacher or caregiver, consider trauma training. Hire current/former foster youth. Let this be your nudge to take a step to help support families in your city.
