In a physical showdown that came down to the final seconds, Barcelona bounced back from recent losses by edging Valencia 62-66 at Roig Arena. Barca improved to 18-14 in the standings by ending a four-game losing streak. It now has a 2-0 record against Valencia, which dropped to 20-12 after registering its third home loss of the season.
Joel Parra led the winners with 14 points, 9 rebounds and a critical steal down the stretch. Will Clyburn added 13 points and Jan Vesely had 11 for Barca. Neil Sako was Valencia top scorer with 12 points. Jean Montero added 11 for the hosts, who led 60-55 with less than 3 minutes remaining. Then Vesely struck from downtown, Parra added a coast-to-coast layup and grabbed a key offensive rebound, which allowed Clyburn sink hit a triple for a 62-64 Barca lead. Parra got a steal and Clyburn sealed the outcome from the foul line with 2.3 seconds left.
