This weekend I had the opportunity to race twice at one of my favorite venues. This time around, the conditions were not very race friendly. This course has a ton of elevation gain with technical terrain. I knew I was in for a tough weekend.
My gameplan going in was to take extra time on the descents but try to capitalize on the flats and uphills. Saturday was true test of resilience battling the fatigue, frustration, and nasty conditions. I personally love that aspect of racing. Got banged up and bruised but pushed onward; locking up the win by just shy of 3:00.
Sunday on the other hand was a blast. I was definitely feeling the repercussions of Saturday. The course was still a muddy disaster, arguably worse, but I tackled it in a similar manner. I ran smoother, went a clean 100% on obstacles, and just balled out. Super happy to have hit both of my spears this weekend after missing both in Jax.
