In the first game to kick off Round 1 of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the Richmond Kicker hosted Northern Virginia FC at City Stadium in Richmond, VA on March 17, 2026. The Richmond Kickers, winners of the 1995 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, defeated the visitors 2-0 to notch their 37th all-time Open Cup win. Fans braved the cold temperatures on St. Patrick’s day.
