This Women’s History Month, The Bennett Prize for Women Figurative Realist Painters is thrilled to announce the jurors for Round 5 of its prestigious biennial competition. Dr. Tiffany E. Barber (tiffanyebarber), award-winning scholar, curator, and critic reshaping conversations around race, gender, and representation. Julie Heffernan (julie_heffernan), nationally recognized painter and educator known for luminous figurative work and decades of mentorship. Miranda Lash (mirandailash), leading contemporary curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt (eschmidt3400) and Steven Alan Bennett (bennett897), co-founders of thebennettprize and The Bennett Collection®. With distinct talents, backgrounds, and perspectives, they’ll select 10 finalists to be featured in “Rising Voices,” a traveling exhibition opening at the muskegonartmuseum in 2027.
