BOSTON RECAP : Thank you to the League of Women for Community Service and Kalima Redd-Knight rojo_noche for an amazing evening at The Museum of African American History celebrating my memoir Plain Jayne. It was incredible to learn the legacy of the #leagueofwomenforcommunityservice , much of which I learned for the first time. Many names of strong black women in history that we all know who were a part of the legacy of The League! (EST. 1917) Lastly, It was absolutely wonderful to reunite with the amazing woman who makes all this happen, Kalima Redd-Knight. I’ve known her since she was just a little girl. My daughters and she would swim together in their pond.
