A federal judge Thursday blocked Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from restricting federal funding for gender-affirming care for minors. U.S. District Judge Mustafa T. Kasubhai sided with the state of Oregon and a coalition of 20 other states and the District of Columbia. He found that Kennedy’s December declaration was unlawful and ordered the federal government to stop threatening to cut off hospitals and clinics from Medicaid and Medicare programs for providing gender-affirming care.
