Maya 🤝 Met. Climate activist, designer and artist #MayaPenn makes her debut at fashion's biggest night in a custom coachtopia silk chiffon dress gathered from remnants and leftovers of the #CoachFall23 runway show. The ruffles are embroidered with vintage lace scraps and the paillettes—that's fancy for sequins—are made with discarded bike tire tubes, aluminum soda cans and plastic water bottles. We used old VHS tapes to create the trim. 📼 Maya carries a Wavy Dinky bag embellished with Met Museum discards—maps, plastic water bottles and napkins. The end result? #MetGala perfection.
