Most people only train their hamstrings in shortened positions (like leg curls) or only stretch them statically. But your hamstrings need to be strong while they are lengthening, which is how they function during running, lifting, and daily movement. Hamstring walkouts train: • Eccentric hamstring strength (injury prevention) • Posterior chain activation (glutes + hamstrings) • End-range control (where strains often happen) • Core stability while the legs move This makes them a great warmup before: • Running • Leg day • CrossFit/Hyrox style training • Speed or sprint workouts How to perform: 1. Start in a glute bridge 2. Slowly walk your heels away while keeping hips lifted 3. Only go as far as you can control 4.
