In the communities The Sonder Project serves in Malawi and Burkina Faso—and around the world—women and girls bear the brunt of daily water collection for their homes and farms. They walk miles, often multiple times a day, carrying heavy containers home. Women also care for those affected by waterborne diseases and manage household water needs. True equity goes beyond access: it requires ownership. We support this by partnering with communities to form water committees with at least 50% women whenever we drill wells—empowering resilient voices for lasting change.
