🏆2023 ILLINI 16 CHAMPIONS🏆 Friday, the A team traveled to the U of I for the annual Illini 16 tournament. After checking in at potentially the most luxurious Super 8 ever, we got right to munching at Fat Sandwich because the idea of heart disease was no concern (to some, because the more wise opted for a turkey sub at PotBelly). Following some well-deserved rest, we geared up for pool play which started at 8am on Saturday. It began strong with the sweep of Illinois State and ended with the sweep of “hot guys” aka U of I alumni. In between, the tigers decided to partake in some tomfoolery and goofed away a set to UIC but rallied back to take the tiebreaker, closing pool play at a perfect 3-0. After a brief intermission featuring a bounce contest and a first round bye, we got right into bracket play against Purdue in the quarterfinals.
