At the World Trade Center, we are continuing our celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander culture for the month of May. Today, we’re highlighting the Filipino street food: @sosarapnyc. When co-founders VJ Navarro and Sebastien Shan were furloughed in 2020 due to Covid-19, they decided to start a pop-up for authentic Pinoy street food. The word “Sarap” in Tagalog means “yummy.” So Sarap aims to bring you back to childhood memories with their delicious recipes. Their pork and chicken skewers are easily seen and smelled on their grill under their tent at Smorgasburg. You can also try their fishballs and dipping sauce.
