There is something that we are not talking about within LGBTQ+ spaces. We are recreating the exact feeling we are “fleeing” from by judging others’ experiences with their seggsualities and by creating a box of what that should look like in order to be “acceptable” in these spaces. We do this to ourselves because we fear others doing this to us, and then we do it to others. It’s a viscous and harmful cycle. This is an incredibly real and lived experience for so. many. people. inside of this community. I cannot tell you how many people come into my spaces after feeling unsafe in other lgbtq+ spaces.
