Labels felt super confusing and disempowering for me at the start of my coming out journey. I found myself waffling and wavering over how I identified…which was just a distraction from feeling the feelings and being with the experience that was unfolding before me. Our society, as well as the lgbtq+ community, tends to put a lot of pressure and emphasis on how one identifies. But if it feels like labels are just creating more noise, I encourage you to break out of the box and simply follow what feels good.
