I used to not feel safe to openly advocate for LGBTQ+ people. I had so much internalized shame and fear around my queerness, and there were infinite examples that reconfirmed it wasn’t safe to stand openly in my identity. Now more than ever, it is so important for allies and LGBTQ+ people, who do feel safe to use their voices, to advocate for people in this community who don’t have direct access to support. As a part of their month long initiative and to reflect their continued support of LGBTQ+ pride, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will donate $1 to Fenway Health in Boston for every ride taken on Blue Cross Proud Bikes.
