That moment when you decide that you are deserving of a life that feels liberating and REAL. When I came out, I was absolutely terrified. I knew that I was putting everything on the line by sharing my truth with the world. For so many years, I convinced myself that if I were ever to come out, everyone would abandon me. That I would let the people I love most down. That I would be laughed at—made fun of—bullied—rejected. The whole nine yards. When I came out, I knew that people were going to talk about me. Some would feel inspired. Others would feel disgusted. But regardless of the hate, the jokes or the disapproval, if I could make one person feel less alone…and if I could finally feel free to be who I came here to be, it was all worth it to me.
