It is such an honor partnering with samsungus to share this interpretation of Woman Pounding Grain by Park Soo Keun—one of 140 pieces of extraordinary art donated by Samsung’s late chairman, Lee Kun Hee. The Chairman believed, “collecting and preserving cultural heritage is a duty of our time for the future of humanity.” I picked this particular painting because out of all the pieces I saw in the collection, this one moved me the most. The woman buried in this painting reminds me so much of the women from my own life and I thought it was also perfect for Women’s History Month.
