Jumoke Academy is home to an arts-themed middle school campus—JAH-HC—where scholars explore visual arts, music, dance, and theater as part of their learning experience.
This week, we spotlight our Hartford Conservatory art scholars from Ms. Strom’s classroom, who created expressive portrait studies honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for the MLK Day Brunch on January 17.
Using charcoal techniques such as shading, contrast, and proportion, scholars thoughtfully studied historical figures and communicated meaning through visual art.
This work reflects what it means to be Ready to Learn—demonstrating focus, perseverance, creativity, and critical thinking. We’re excited to share that select pieces will also be showcased at the Jumoke Academy Gala in March.
📚 Ready to Learn. Ready to Create. Ready to Lead.
