Want to give a special shutout to Megumi!!! What a season she had: -NCAA All-American -National Medalist -Led the squad and the team with 64 regular season Ws -Double Gold at the Remenyik -Top 8 at the Temple Open What makes it even more impressive is she did it as a first-year. She accomplished it all through her work ethic, giving everything she had every single day. Through her willingness and eagerness to further develop all aspects of her fencing. Her bravery and toughness of experiencing discomfort, leaning in to it, and taking thoughtful action. She was able to do all those things because of the entire squad’s support and guidance. Helping their “baby ‘Cat” navigate the challenges of being a Northwestern Student Athlete. This is a challenging space, in being a top 10 academic University and a top 10 sports program. How the squad embraced her and lifted her up was a truly beautiful thing to watch all season! So proud of you Meg! Especially when you let you be you!!!!
