Engineered with input from Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, it was the world’s first mass-produced car with an all-aluminum body. Combining high-revving VTEC power with daily drivability, the NSX redefined what a Japanese sports car could be—fast, reliable, and exotic without the price tag. Nissan SilEighty: Born from Japan’s drifting underground, the SilEighty is a hybrid of the Nissan Silvia (S13) body with the front end of a 180SX. Drifters often swapped the pop-up headlights of wrecked 180SXs for the Silvia’s fixed-lamp front due to cost and style. Eventually, the combo became so popular that Nissan’s tuning arm, Kid’s Heart, produced a limited run of factory SilEighties in the late ’90s.
