Porto ~ Sitting pretty on the Douro river estuary in Northern Portugal, Porto has an ancient history dating back to the Roman times. From the 17th century onwards the city’s wealth was based on the trade of port wine, then the construction of the commercial port of Leixoes in 1890 further propelled the city’s economic growth.    Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, the city has an eclectic collection of architecture ranging from Romanesque cathedrals, Gothic cloisters, Baroque churches and Neo-Classical buildings.   Nested within the historical centre, you will find Palacio Da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace). Rebuilt in the 19th century by architect Joaquim Da Costa Lima who created a Neoclassical masterpiece with Palladian and Moorish influences. Une merveille!!! ✨ Exploration never ends 🙌🏽☀️ #palladianarchitecture #moorisharchitecture #portoportugallovers #portoportugal #portobestplaces #magicplaces #amar_porto #instaporto #visitporto #unescoheritage #unescosite #portoa...
