Airway setup for a Neuro case 🧠 There are certain items that are standard in an airway kit, such as blade/ETT/OAW- however, depending on the surgery and patient, you may need other items. Neuro Considerations: We use tegaderms to secure the eyes as opposed to regular eye tape. Because of where the surgical site is, tegaderms give you more coverage and protection. Most Neuro cases have the OR bed turned 90, or 180 degrees. Having a flex extender or “accordion” in place of the Y piece will reduce tension and lengthen your circuit. If possible, have a soft bite block inserted as well.
