This is a glimpse into my morning routine if I’m assigned in GI (endoscopy) - colonoscopies and egds. These cases tend to be quick and you could end up doing 8-20 of them a day! The anesthetic is usually MAC so lots of propofol and lidocaine. The patient will be in a “twilight sleep” where they could potentially still hear and slightly move. I draw up multiple propofols in the morning because sometimes the turnover is quick.
