There are a variety of cases in different specialties that require anesthesia. 🏥I personally do a lot of neuroanesthesia. I am on the neuro team so when I get assigned, it’s most likely going to be a 🧠Neuro case (maybe 75% of the time, the other times I do vascular, interventional radiology and general cases) Some specific surgeries that we do are cerebral aneurysm, arterial venous malformations, Vp shunts, hypophysectomies & tumor resections. I enjoy these because you tend to do more lines and can be a little more involved (especially when they are doing motor/sensory monitoring). If you really like putting in lines and being on top of your game, try out vascular! 🩸 For the most part, if you are not cardiac or pediatric, you will end up doing all the other cases. Not all hospitals will have certain teams for certain specialties so you will have to know how to do everything.
