The anesthesiologist assistant will have a “runner” who brings them extra supplies from outside of the OR when needed. Transport team brings the patient directly to the operating room, bypassing pre-op. The patient gets induced and intubated as soon as possible with the glide scope. There is no attempt to bag mask. After the surgery, the patient remains intubated and gets transported back to ICU. Everything in the room that doesn’t get used, gets tossed. Yes, COVID is still happening.
