Sorry for not posting in a while!! I’ve been so busy lately! This was a question I received last week and wanted to share. The main everyday tasks that anesthesiologist assistants do are setting up the operating room, making sure we have everything required for the surgery, airway set up, iv setup, drug setup, induce, intubate, bp & pain management intraop, extubate and then repeat for the next case. If you look at the general flow and overall duties of this job, then sure - it can get monotonous but that’s with every job! 🤷🏻‍♀️ You do the same thing everyday because those duties are what you’re responsible for. Depending on where you work, the type of cases can be bread and butter or more involved. Some hospitals will do mostly gyn, plastics on ASA 1/2s, whereas others specialize in trauma, neuro and vascular on ASA 3/4 patients.
