Once, Narada visited Shiva and Parvati with a divine mango (Jnana Phala — fruit of wisdom).
Narada declared that the mango could not be divided and must be given to only one — the most deserving.
Seeing Kartikeya and Ganesha both worthy, Shiva and Parvati decided to test them.
They announced a challenge:
👉 Whoever completes three rounds of the universe and returns first will receive the mango.

🦚 Kartikeya’s Path
Kartikeya, the warrior and commander of the gods, immediately mounted his peacock and set off to circle the entire universe, believing speed and strength would ensure victory.

🐘 Ganesha’s Path
Ganesha did not rush.
Instead, he walked around Shiva and Parvati three times, folded his hands, and stood calmly.
When questioned, he conveyed the essence of his act:
“For me, my parents are the universe.
Circumambulating them is equal to circling all creation.”

🌺 The Outcome
Shiva and Parvati were pleased and awarded the mango to Ganesha.
