It was a girls basketball season for the ages, one that included broken records and some first-in-a-long-time achievements, and culminated in three local teams capturing state titles last weekend. Albertus Magnus, Tappan Zee and Yonkers Montessori brought home gold medals and those bright yellow championship T-shirts, returning from upstate to celebrations in their communities. Nyack and Tuckahoe fell just short in their state semifinals but were headliners in an incredible winter that saw five Section 1 champions advance to the state final four.
