A quick heads up for parents and our community 👇 High school students are participating in a game called “Senior Assassin,” often using realistic-looking water guns. Some of these replicas closely resemble real firearms. Recently, our deputies have responded to calls involving teens believed to be armed, which were later determined to be toy guns. These encounters can escalate quickly and pose a serious danger to students, bystanders, and deputies. A split-second misunderstanding can have real consequences. Parents are urged to talk with their children about the risks of using realistic-looking toy guns in public areas, neighborhoods, parks, parking lots, and around schools.   Anyone who observes suspicious or dangerous behavior is encouraged to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 260-4000.
