So many things in life challenge us. For me, design has opened my eyes to the world around me. For example, Our new Plank Desk that is made from a 9’ long “fall off cut” that we collected from angelcitylumber was originally thought to be unusable. Side note* Angel City is an incredible company located just outside of downtown LA which is an unlikely place for a lumber mill. They also harvest trees from around LA giving them access to incredible old growth trees from neighborhoods that hold significant history. As I saw what Angel City was doing and hearing about these fall off cuts, I began thinking… how could I minimally intervene with the beauty of this natural material while adding functionality to the home.
