I travel across 5+ hours time zones on a weekly basis and without proper strategies to handle it’s easy for life to become suboptimal and energy levels to drop. I try and minimise the effects of travelling across time zones by waking at 4am in the US and 8-9am when in the UK, going to sleep at 8am in the US and 12-1am in the UK.
As we teach our client in our Negotiator’s Mindset workshop to take care or their nervous system, sleep and the quality of sleep is of primary importance for you, and how much blue light you get and when it will affect your circadian rhythm, melatonin production, energy levels, and sleep quality.
I use blue light glasses when I wake up in the morning in time zones where I wake up 3-4 hours before sunrise and blue light blocking glasses at about 6pm when I want my brain to think that the sun has already set, so to prepare your brain for sleep and protect it from artificial blue light emitting devices.
